Although it falls right between the major holiday shopping weekends of Memorial Day and the 4th of July, June has plenty of sales to offer savvy shoppers. Many department stores and chain stores hold “semi-annual sales” in June, offering deep discounts in an effort to move inventory and at the end of the first half of the year.
Plus, Father’s Day means stores can offer extra discounts on items traditionally bought as gifts for dads. However, these price cuts are usually very close to the holidays themselves, which fall on June 19 this year.
“It helps to procrastinate a bit, since most of the best sales don’t happen until Father’s Day week,” says coupons.com savings expert Lisa Thompson. “You can choose whatever you want, but then look at the price to see if it’s on sale.”
Here’s a look at six products that are among the best things to buy in June:
1. Tools
Retailers often drop prices on tools throughout June in hopes of snagging additional sales for Father’s Day. In addition to individual tools, look for deals on tool sets, accessories, and tool storage options, including boxes and chests.

2. Tech Gadgets
High-tech items, including smartwatches, home audio equipment and headphones, often top Father’s Day gift lists. Retailers will likely offer competitive discounts on these gadgets to boost early summer sales.
