A new amusement arcade and gadget shop are opening in a shopping center in North Tyneside.
Work is underway to install the Arcade Warehouse at the Royal Quays Outlet Center in North Shields, which is due to open to the public the first week of March.
The approximately 7,000 square foot venue promises to provide family entertainment with an array of retro and modern arcade games, PCs, consoles, virtual reality (VR) sets, billiards, air hockey and basketball.

Entry will cost £8.95 for two hours and all machines will be set to free play, so people can play as much as they want during their slots. The site will also offer party packages.
Meanwhile, a gadget store – My-G Gadgets Gizmos and Gaming – will open a few doors down from the Royal Quays center on February 1. Together, the two sites have created approximately 15 jobs.
Caton Airey and his business partner Dan Rees, who started the business, started in Scunthorpe, where they have an IT business.
They expanded and opened a gadget shop and arcade in Scunthorpe, then launched another in Lincoln.
Caton, 37, said: “We were looking for places where we could open an arcade and the Newcastle area was always on our radar.
“This site at Royal Quays popped up and we loved it so we decided to open the arcade here as well as a gadget shop in another unit.”
He said the new venues would help attract more people to the area, which is also near Inflata Nation and Gutterball Alley.
“The arcade will have something for every age group,” he added. “It’s just a great way to get the family out, to all play together.
“There are already other leisure venues in the area and the arcade will add to that, offering something different and a chance for people to come to Royal Quays and enjoy a full day.”
