Disneyland Announces Return Dates for Nightly Shows, Including Fireworks, Fantasmic! and Main Street Electric Parade

Disneyland on Tuesday announced return dates for several nighttime entertainment offerings, including the return of the iconic Main Street Electrical Parade with a new float featuring characters from multiple films including “Encanto” and “Coco.”

The Main Street Electric Parade, World of Color and the Disneyland Forever Fireworks Show will return on April 22. Another popular offering, Fantasmic!, is set to return on May 28.

Disneyland also unveiled a new grand finale float as part of the Main Street Electrical Parade’s 50th anniversary.

“In honor of this milestone, the Disney Live Entertainment team will be introducing exciting new elements to the ‘Main Street Electrical Parade’ that will continue to evolve this beloved spectacular,” Disneyland said in a press release. Tuesday.

The parade, with its light-up floats and catchy “electro-syntho-magenitc” sound, debuted in 1972 but died out in 1996. Afterwards, it was featured for nearly a decade at Disney California Adventure Park and also made an appearance at Walt Disney. World in Florida.

However, the nighttime show was brought back for limited-time engagements, most recently in 2019. It’s also gone through a few changes over the years.

The new final tank will feature characters from newer movies including ‘Encanto’, ‘The Jungle Book’, ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’, ‘Aladdin’, ‘Coco’, ‘Mulan’, ‘Brave’ , “The Princess and the Frog” and more.

According to Disneyland Resort, the Main Street Electrical Parade will run twice a night most nights and will run “for a limited time.”

World of Color – a dazzling display of laser and water color at California Adventure – also returns on April 22 and will be played nightly. The Disneyland Forever fireworks display returns Friday through Sunday, starting April 22.

Other changes will also be in store for the theme park soon.

Last week, Disneyland announced that Mickey’s Toontown would close on March 9 so work could begin on a previously announced revamp.

Once the transformation is complete, visitors can expect the return of popular attractions such as Roger Rabbit’s Cartoon Spin and Mickey and Minnie’s houses – and perhaps find other favorites among the new offerings. The new space is expected to open in 2023.

Other Toontown attractions such as Gadget’s Go Coaster, Goofy’s House and Donald’s Boat “will be reimagined in new and exciting ways,” Disney said. A new ride called Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway – billed as Disneyland’s “first major Mickey-themed attraction” – will debut.

Guests will also be introduced to CentOONial Park, a family-friendly natural space near the entrance to the grounds. It will feature a few interactive gaming experiences, anchored by a fountain that includes a unique nighttime show, according to the post.

“The newly redesigned Mickey’s Toontown will be a welcoming place where families and young guests can connect and play together in fun new ways,” said Josh D’Amaro, president of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, during the announcement. of closing.
