Walmart has an app that can help you get the best deals every time you shop in the store, says Alec Pow, CEO of The Pricer.
So if you want to start taking advantage of the helpful trick to cut costs, all you have to do is grab your cell phone and download the app.
“One little trick I use to always get the best deals at Walmart is to shop with the official Walmart app open on my phone,” the money-saving expert says GoBankingRates.com.
According to Pow, looking at the app while walking down the aisles of your local Walmart will help you compare prices.
“I always compare shelf prices with online app prices for the same product,” he said.
If you find an item selling for less on the Walmart app than the advertised price on the store shelf, the retail chain will honor the lower price.
“You would think there isn’t a big disparity between these two prices but that’s not always the case,” he explained.
Apparently, one of the reasons for the price disparity is that the discounts appear online first.
It then takes some time for stores to change the prices on their shelves.
“There are a lot of products that will get a huge discount on the app and it would take some time for this discount to update for in-store products,” Pow said.
