iQoo U5 appears to be getting closer to release after its listing was spotted on a popular Chinese online retail store. The listing mentions that pre-orders for this handset will begin in China on December 24. It is expected that the Vivo iQoo sub-brand will officially announce the iQoo U5 release date before pre-orders begin. The list unveiled several key features of this device. iQoo U5 would now be powered by a Snapdragon 695 SoC and house a 5,000mAh battery.

As mentioned earlier, the iQoo handset will contain a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC paired with a 5,000mAh battery. Its screen will have a refresh rate of 120Hz. Both listings are for two color options – standard black and a gradient blue finish – although a white color variant will also be visible. The listings were initially Point by GSMArena.

IQoo U5 specifications, functionality (expected)

According to previous leaks, iQoo U5 has a 6.58-inch AMOLED display offering a resolution of 2408 × 1080 pixels. Its screen is designed to have a color depth of 16.7 million colors. iQoo is expected to offer 4GB and 8GB memory options. Additionally, a 256GB storage variant is expected to feature on the cards. For optics, the handset is expected to be equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor on the back. The handset is said to measure 164 x 75.84 x 8.25mm and weigh 185 grams. iQoo U5 is designed to feature light, proximity and fingerprint sensors.

IQoo U5 is rumored to be accompanied by the iQoo U5X handset at launch. iQoo U5X is said to have a 5G edition powered by a Snapdragon 480+ SoC and a 4G version powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 SoC. These phones are expected to succeed the iQoo U3 and iQoo U3X smartphones which were launched this year in March.
