Summer’s barely over, but it’s already been one of the most productive years for Lenovo’s subsidiary Motorola: the business has been running at full steam for some time now, and 2022 should end up being one of its busiest years in terms of breadth of range. One of the company’s latest mid-rangers, the Moto G72, is set to launch in a week’s time, and after previewing it in a roadmap as “Victoria”, we now have all design details and specifications.

Powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G99 running at 2.0GHz, the Moto G72 is a 6.6-inch handset with FHD+ (1080 x 2400) resolution on an HDR10+ certified pOLED display capable of 120Hz refresh. Other certifications include Dolby Atmos and IP52 water protection, which means it’s water-repellent but not waterproof.

Also under the hood is 6GB or 8GB of DDR4x RAM, 128GB of storage, and a robust 5,000mAh battery, capable of 30-watt fast charging. It has an under-display fingerprint sensor, a bit different from Motorola, which placed them under the power button for much of its recent mid-range.
In the imaging department, expect a 108-megapixel af/1.7 rear camera alongside 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide and 2MP f/2.4 macro cameras, plus a 16MP af/2.45 selfie shooter on the front. It will be preloaded with Android 12.
