Shazam app: you can now use the Shazam app directly on the Google Chrome browser

Apple-owned Shazam has rolled out an extension for Chromium users that can be used to identify the song being played in a tab. The extension can be downloaded from the Chrome online store and it can also be pinned like any other extension. The plugin is free and it also allows you to discover artists, lyrics and videos. According to Shazam, the platform matches 1 billion songs every month.
How Shazam Extension for Chrome Browser Works
Once you click on the Shazam extension next to the address bar, you will be able to see a small pop-up window that says “Click for Shazam”. Go to the play music tab and click on the Shazam button in the extension. The extension will take 3-5 seconds to recognize the music you are listening to.
The extension also keeps a list of music that you have searched for. It also had a dedicated button that allows Apple Music subscribers to listen to the full song by logging in. A subscription is also required if you wish to view the lyrics or clips.
According to a report by 9to5Google, the extension does not perform very well on macOS and Chrome OS, and it fails to find a match even after a minute.
