Sony E PZ 10-20mm F4 G, E 15mm F1.4 G and E 11mm F1.8: Specifications
The E PZ 10-20mm F4 G is 20% lighter than its predecessor SEL1018. It weighs just 178 grams and has internal zoom and focus mechanisms that give it the look and feel worthy of a top-notch lens. The lens comes with three asphetic elements and is positioned to suppress field curvature and astigmatism. The optical path also includes two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements that effectively mitigate chromatic aberration.
The E PZ 10-20mm F4 G features a new electronic zoom system that provides direct, responsive control and adjustable zoom speed. Powered zoom minimizes camera shake so solo shooters can produce smooth, stable images and buttons can be assigned on compatible housings for convenient zoom control.
The lens uses two linear motors for focusing, providing fast and quiet autofocus. Additionally, the focusing mechanism is internal, so the length of the lens remains constant during focusing.
The E 15mm F1.4 G lens delivers a 15mm wide view (35mm full-frame equivalent: 22.5mm) with impressive G lens resolution. Three aspherical elements in an advanced optical design effectively compensate for distortion and deliver excellent corner-to-corner resolution, despite the lens’ 15mm wide view. Then adding an ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass element and a Super ED glass element suppresses chromatic aberration. The lens offers a minimum focusing distance of 0.17 meters and a maximum magnification of 0.15x.
The E 15mm F1.4 G uses Sony’s latest lens technology to reduce focus breathing – variations in angle of view are minimized for smooth, stable video images. It also supports the breathing compensation feature provided in compatible α-series bodies, minimizing breathing that can interfere with post-shot editing.
The E 11mm F1.8’s ultra-wide angle of view is ideal for indoor shots and images that make expressive use of depth of field. It features three aspherical lens elements and three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements for consistently high resolution from the center of the image to the periphery, despite the lens’ ultra-wide 11mm angle of view (full equivalent 35mm format: 16.5mm).
