The E PZ 10-20mm F4 G is 20% lighter than its predecessor SEL1018. It weighs just 178 grams and has internal zoom and focus mechanisms that give it the look and feel worthy of a top-notch lens. The lens comes with three asphetic elements and is positioned to suppress field curvature and astigmatism. The optical path also includes two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements that effectively mitigate chromatic aberration.
The E PZ 10-20mm F4 G features a new electronic zoom system that provides direct, responsive control and adjustable zoom speed. Powered zoom minimizes camera shake so solo shooters can produce smooth, stable images and buttons can be assigned on compatible housings for convenient zoom control.
The lens uses two linear motors for focusing, providing fast and quiet autofocus. Additionally, the focusing mechanism is internal, so the length of the lens remains constant during focusing.
