Although TCL says its Google TVs should update automatically in the background, you can always verify that you are using the latest update. Here’s how to manually check for the update:

  1. Make sure you have connected your TV to the Internet.
  2. Press the Settings button on your remote to open a panel on the right side of the TV screen.
  3. To select Settings.
  4. Then go to System > On > System update.
  5. Finally, select Network update.

You will see a software update message box if an update is available. In this case, follow the on-screen instructions to update your TV software. If you don’t see the software update message box, it means your TV is running the latest version.
