There’s nothing quite like setting up your bar cart to whip up a cold cocktail brimming with whimsical flavors and fun toppings. But as a beginner mixologist, you’d be hard pressed to find me making such cocktails on my own. Sure, I could whip up a vodka soda at home, but who doesn’t prefer something with a little more frills? And I’ll be the first to admit it: I spend too much money on drinks at restaurants. So when SodaStream invited me to try their Sodastream Art x Dante Art cocktail kit, I jumped at the offer. The promise? Restaurant quality drinks at home. Consider me sold!
I first got to try the limited-edition cocktail kit at famed New York cocktail destination and hotspot, Dante, who Sodastream has partnered with to celebrate the launch of their most advanced sparkling water maker. to date: Art. The kit includes everything you need to be your own professional mixologist. Inside you’ll find a cocktail book with never-before-seen recipes created by Dante’s elite mixologists, a cocktail shaker, jigger, muddler, and three exclusive Soda Press flavors.
To properly test the kit, I started with one of the exclusive recipes: the Dante Mule, which is an upgraded version of a Moscow Mule. As someone whose bartending skills only extend to serving a glass of wine, the idea of an ingredient list scared me. But it turns out that the Dante Mule was actually pretty easy to make, mostly because the kit contains ingredients that I wouldn’t normally have on hand. This particular drink called for ginger bitters, and since the bottle included in the kit is quite large, I have enough leftovers to make many no more Dante Mules (and any other restaurant-quality drink I crave!) for me and my guests.
While the kit is perfect for nailing down your ingredients (and having the right tools to do so!), it’s the Sodastream Art that will really enhance your drink. With the push of a lever, you can turn plain water into chilled sparkling water to add a little sparkle to your cocktail (or enjoy it on its own). The Art also comes with a reusable carbonating bottle, so you won’t have to worry about running out of still water, which is handy for cocktails on the go. Even better? The Art allows you to customize your carbonation levels so you can truly customize your drink to suit your preferences.
So if you, like me, have spent more than you care to admit on drinks at the bar, consider trying this limited-edition kit.
