uber: Uber ends support for its Apple Watch app

the Uber app for Apple Watches was launched in 2015 and several users have used this app on their wrists to book a taxi since then. Uber silently ended support for its Apple watch and users can now only use their iPhones to book a cab on Uber, MacRumours reports.
Some users have complained that the Uber app has not been available on their Apple Watches since December 2021. Uber now recommends that Apple Watch users use the iPhone app to book an Uber taxi. It is not clear whether the Uber Apple Watch app will be completely removed from the App Store.
The Uber app is still available on the App Store for users to download and install. Reports suggest that the app now displays a message about removing support after installing and opening the app. Uber also hasn’t updated its support page to show the change. The support site still suggests that the Uber app can be used to book a taxi.
The Uber app for Apple Watches has always had more limited functionality than the iPhone app. The Watch app has never supported uberPOOL, fare sharing, ETA sharing, or making contact with an Uber driver. This can be one of the reasons why the app is discontinued for Apple Watches.
Lyft, a rival of Uber, ditched its Apple Watch app and pulled it from the App Store in 2018. Since then, the taxi booking platform hasn’t offered any Apple Watch integration other than notifications. .
