Weekly gadgets: Asus Chromebook CX1101, Oppo Air Glass and more


Tech companies like Asus, Samsung, HP and Lava launched this week (December 6-12) new laptops, smartphones, accessories and more.

DH’s weekly Gadgets edition lists the latest top personal tech products to keep you up to date with all the fun in the world of consumer electronics.

Asus CX1101 Chromebook

It features an 11.6-inch anti-glare HD display mounted on a 180 degree flatbed hinge that is tested for 30,000 open and close life cycle tests, and is MIL- military grade. STD-810H rated for the best in the segment. and reliable reliability.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A8

It comes with a 10.5 inch WUXGA (2000 × 1200p) TFT LCD display and is powered by 12nm class UNISOC T618 octa-core processor with Mali G52 MP2 GPU, supported by 3GB / 4GB RAM, 32GB / 64GB / 128GB (expandable up to 1TB) and Android 11 OS.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 also has an 8 MP main camera on the back, a 5 MP snapper on the front, a huge 7,040mAh battery with a 15W charger. Also comes with a 3.5mm audio jack, quad stereo speakers, and a Dolby Atmos audio system.

Oppo’s new aR (Assisted Reality) device, dubbed Air Glass, is equipped with an in-house developed Spark micro-projector, state-of-the-art micro LED and an optical diffraction waveguide display on measurement – supports four different user interactions via touch, voice, head movement, and hand movement, allowing users to access the information they need faster and easier.

With state-of-the-art hardware, it promises to deliver crisp, crisp content whether worn indoors or outdoors, ensuring a superior aR experience at all times.

At the heart of the OPPO Air Glass display system is the Spark Micro Projector developed by OPPO – one of the most compact projection systems in the industry and measures only 0.5cc, which is roughly the size of ‘a coffee bean. The projector has a CNC metal housing with a glass lens module for better heat dissipation and better stability. The projector is powered by an advanced Micro LED, which has a brightness of up to 3 million nits.

Oppo Air Glass adopts tailor-made optical diffraction waveguide, supporting two display modes – 16-level grayscale and 256-level grayscale – and can deliver up to 1400 nits in medium brightness, ensuring a Vivid and crisp visual display under different lighting conditions.
