The Xbox Series X is regularly sold across the world. Launched in November of last year, Microsoft’s next-gen console is in short supply and in high demand, with little stock selling almost as soon as it appears.
Bottlenecks in the global supply chain coupled with a shortage of components have slowed production of the gaming machine at a breakneck pace, leaving buyers in the UK wondering where to buy an Xbox.
The less powerful Xbox Series S is easier to find in stock, but the more advanced Xbox Series X is more in demand and sells out within minutes of going on sale. Knowing when and where the new console will be restocked next is key to grabbing one before they’re all purchased.
That’s why we launched our live blog on Xbox Stock Alerts, and if you’re wondering where to buy an Xbox Series X in the UK today before Christmas, we’re here to help. Below, we’ll keep you up to date with the latest live replenishment updates as they happen, along with all the news on planned replenishment dates, new games and accessories, and milestone events.

The best VPN for the Xbox Series X
If you watch movies and TV shows on your Xbox, a VPN allows you to spoof your location and access content that isn’t normally available in your country. It can also bypass any internet restrictions you might face.
You can’t install a VPN directly on an Xbox Series X, but you can install one on your laptop and route your console’s internet connection through it.

Will Currys restock the Xbox Series X today?
Curries restocked the Xbox Series X on December 7, but is currently sold out on the new console. We are planning at least one more restocking before Santa Claus arrives.
We recommend that you download the app and drag Xbox Series X to your “save for later” list. When a drop occurs, the main Currys site can quickly be overwhelmed with increased traffic. Using the app you can skip the lines and basically sneak through the back entrance.

What’s up with this elite controller?
For retailers, it’s a win-win: they can sell expensive controllers to buyers who otherwise might not have bought them, and they deter scalpers who just want to buy an Xbox Series X to sell for a profit. . A used Xbox Series X sells for more than the RRP because it’s so hard to find, but a used elite controller sells for less.
This is great news if you’re one of the few people who considered switching from a standard controller (£ 54.99, Argos.fr), or one third of the price. The Elite Wireless Controller features premium customizable analog sticks and programmable inputs for pro-level gaming.
For those of us who are less in thumb sticks … that’s a kick in the wallet.

How to buy an Xbox Series X in-store
Lately, more and more retailers have chosen to restock the Xbox in-store rather than online. This helps avoid scalpers and puts the console in the hands of legitimate customers.
Keeping track of inventory status in physical stores is tricky, but not impossible. We rely on advice from shoppers, reports from Twitter, and information from our shady network of spies built into every physical store nationwide.
Here are some tips for finding the stock Xbox Series X in the wild:
- Retailers who have in-store inventory are Argos, Smyths Toys and Game. To a lesser extent we have heard of John Lewis & Associates, and Curries have a physical stock.
- Enter your zip code on the retailer’s online product page to check local stock. If you can, scroll down to take a look at other stores further away from you.
- Xbox not in stock? Do not lose hope. Many stores do not record Xbox returns or uncollected pre-orders in their stock systems. Meet in person at your local store and ask a member of staff.

When will Smyths Toys have an Xbox restock?
Smyths Toys is on our radar for a potential Xbox restock later today or early next week.
The retailer is one of three places to store the Xbox All Access program, which it was last available for earlier this week. Game also briefly restocked the program, suggesting there’s another wave of consoles floating out there, ready to hit the shelves.
We will keep our eyes open for any stock available at Smyths.
